Tuesday at the National School of Administration and Public Policies (ENAPP), the Ministry for the Status of Women and Women's Rights (MCFDF) organized the 4th regular meeting of the Gender Thematic Table (TTG), with support of UN Women.

Coordinated by the MCFDF the Gender Thematic Table continued the mobilization of its national and international partners against the inequality of social relations between genders in Haiti. This meeting was attended by State actors, of the civil society, private sector, representatives of cooperation and international organizations.

Four main themes were discussed : the political participation of women (quota principle), the gender sensitive budget, legal reforms and violence based on gender.

Under the coordination of the Ministry for Women's, previously assembled groups met in a workshop to discuss the proposed themes and identify prospects.

Recall that the TTG, which is part of the External Aid Coordination Mechanism for Development (ACCD), has as its main mandate to support the search for gender equality and the inclusion of women's needs in responses to selected sectoral issues in the implementation of programs of Strategic Development Plan for Haiti. It is a space for dialogue between the government and its partners and involves all sectors and all stakeholders.

The TTG aims the harmonization and coordination of interventions, the development and sharing of methods and tools to use to achieve results for equality and the proposal of training strategies and associated technical support. Finally, it seeks to generalize the transparency of situations of differentiated references by gender and visibility of results in the priority areas of intervention.
