In a press release dated July 15, signed by the rector Jean Vernet Henry, the Executive Council of the State University of Haiti (CE/UEH) notes with greatest consternation the increasing violence.

"The Faculty of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine (GMEF), like many other organs, institutions or communities, has been a victim of this wave of terror, violence and criminal insecurity. The Professor Tébert Oscar was shot several times in the street, at the Boulevard La Saline https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-14472-icihaiti-flash-6th-agronomist-shot-dead.html returning from the Central Bank (BRH).

Professor Tébert Oscar, brilliant agricultural engineer graduated from FAMV, Geomatics Specialist applied to the environment, a highly sought expertise in the country.

He held a Master of Sherbrooke University in Canada and had just to file his thesis project through a partnership between the UEH and the Institute of Research for Development, with a view to initiating studies doctoral for greater ownership of the environmental monitoring program assisted by satellite of Haiti.

Tearful, once again, by this loss, Haitian society just accused, as in many other cases, a huge loss in the person of Professor Tébert Oscar. One more victim, for a society in need and constantly seeking qualified human resources, able to truly contribute to its development.

Outraged by this murder, the Executive Council reminds the competent authorities of their obligation to work arduously to the maintain of a security environment conducive to life and the exercise of all activities in our society.

The Executive Council of the State University of Haiti, reiterates its deep sympathy to the families, friends colleagues professors, students, staff of the FAMV, the entire university community and all those affected by this crime obnoxious."

Recall that Tébert Oscar is the 6th Agronomist shot dead since the beginning of the year.
