This Guide has been prepared in consultation with the twelve peasant associations PRAN partners that helped to define the needs and concepts that can help to develop healthy eating habits. So serve them at the same time of memory aids," explainded Claudie Marie-Joseph, host nutrition at PRAN.

In order to promote healthy eating habits, the PRAN can also rely on 24 women extension workers coming from its 12 partner associations. These extension workers have the primary task of ensuring the training of other members within the various communities served by the nutrition project "The extension workers are already very active in their community," said Charline Toussaint, extension worker within the "Association Chemin Développement Aquart". "With the Food Guide in hand, we have all the information to be able to reproduce thereafter nutrition workshops within our associations."

This guide is part of a much larger project worth 1.8 million euros, 1.4 million euros were allocated by the European Union, which aims, in addition to nutrition, environmental protection and agricultural recovery in Marigot "Two years after the launch of this project, the resulting are very encouraging: 18 hectares of watersheds were protected, over 69,000 fruit and forest seedlings have been planted, more than a thousand jobs were created, and about 400 families were familiarized with soil conservation techniques. The Guide for its part is a reference document that will help disseminate good eating habits on a large scale," said Raphael Brigandi, charge of political affairs and communication of the Delegation of the European Union.
