Aggression of a candidate of the party RESPE

The Pary RESPE hat its candidate to the Deputation, Denis Pierre Lima of the Constituency of Torbeck/Chantal has been physically attacked Wednesday afternoon, by former Deputy Guy Gérard Georges, candidate under the banner Fanmi Lavalas and an armed group. The car of Denis Pierre Lima was hit by several bullets, the Candidat was injured and a young woman beaten during that aggression.

Arrest of a candidate with a troubled past...

Thursday morning, Alfredo Junior Antoine deputy candidate under the banner of the party "Konvansyon Inite Demokratik" (KID) for the town of Kenscoff was arrested. Police and judicial authorities have still not commented on the reasons for the arrest. But according to a police source close to the case, Alfredo Antoine was under the influence of an arrest warrant issued against him last April, by the investigating Judge, Etzer Aristilde, for forgery and use of forgeries. The candidate was taken to the Palace of Justice in Port-au-Prince, shortly after being arrested and placed in custody, due to the unavailability of the magistrate instructor who was attending a meeting of judges, before being released on promise to remain at the disposal of justice.

Pierre Espérance, the Executive Director of the National Network for the Defence of Human Rights (RNDDH) recalls that Alfredo Antoine is well known in Pétion-Ville and Kenscoff "for his involvement in the theft of property..." ecalling that in the past, Alfredo Antoine has already been arrested on 14 September 2005 and sentenced to 3 years in prison before being released April 25, 2008...
