According to data of the Statistics Department of the General Directorate of Dominican migration, 65,049 Haitian nationals in an irregular migratory situation, voluntarily left Dominican territory without the help of government, between June 18 and August 2, 2015.

The largest amount of returns, was done through Dajabón 50,676 (77%), Elías Piña, 6,739 (10%), Jimaní, 5,344 (7%), and Pedernales, 2,290 (6%).

To this number must be added 878 Haitian nationals who return to their country with the assistance of the Dominican Government (free transport and moving truck) through Dajabon 320 people (36%), 209 through Elías Piña (24%), 177 through Jimani (20%) and 172 through Pedernales (20%).

Note that these figures do not take into account the Haitians who have used one of 181 point of illegal crossings on the border to return to Haiti.

According to statistical data of the voluntary return program, with or without assistance from the Dominican Government, 50% of Haitians leaving Dominican territory are men (32,805), 27% are women (17,626) and 23% (15,496) of children.

Sunday, after being voted at the Lycée of Petion-ville, the President Martelly questioned by Dominican television on the crisis between Haiti and the neighboring Republic stated "the governments of Haiti and the Dominican Republic should try to solve the problems that exist between them, on differences on immigration, mainly."

The President wanted to show confidence in this conflict by saying "[...] the fact that differences exist, does not mean that these problems will not be solved."
