Haiti - FLASH : Drug lord expelled from the US, released in Haiti...

Tuesday, Beaudouin "Jacques" Kétant, considered as the "Pablo Escobar of Haiti", who was sentenced to a term of 27 years to serve in a US prison, for trafficking 30 tons of cocaine between Haiti and the United States, was deported to Haiti, after seeing his sentence reduced by half earlier this year.

He arrived in Port-au-Prince with 16 other Haitian deportees aboard a special flight from the US government. Upon arrival, Kétant was immediately detained by the Haitian National Police, then released after a parent became guarantor of his person.

Before leaving the Police Station in accordance with the procedure, Kétant was subjected to fingerprinting and was photographed.

Recall that Kétant lived in great luxury in Haiti, where he was an untouchable pivot until Aristide yielded to US pressure in 2003 and ordered his deportation to the USA where he pleaded guilty before the American courts and was sentenced to 27 years in prison.

Note that in this same special flight, 50 Dominicans deported from the US, have also landed in the Dominican Republic.
