On Friday, a new Council of the Bar of Port-au-Prince has been elected at a General Assembly of lawyers. At the end of the vote, the outgoing Secretary Me Stanley Gaston, was elected for 2 years, new president of the Bar of Lawyers of Port-au-Prince [unopposed], replacing Me Carlos Hercules, who just completing two successive terms [1st mandate 2011-2013 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-3946-haiti-justice-elections-to-the-bar-of-port-au-prince.html and acclaimed for a second term https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-9544-haiti-news-some-news-here-and-there.html ] ; Me Jean Bergemane Berrette, was elected secretary ; Me Wébert Paul, Treasurer. 11 new councilors were also elected.

For Me Carlos Hercules the elections are a roof that lawyers have opted for continuity. What confirmes the new president of the Bar Me Stanley Gaston, who has promised to continue the work one under the direction of Carlos Hercules, believing that if the lawyers have chosen to elect at the head of the Bar, a member of the outgoing team, it's a proof of the satisfaction of the work that has been accomplished.

The new Council will be invested on October 5 at the opening of the judicial year.
