Haiti - Economy : South Korea will create nearly 9,000 new jobs in Haiti

This week, the Ministry of Trade and Industry through the National Society of Industrial Parks (SONAPI), signed two memoranda of understanding with Korean companies.

Earlier this week a first protocol was signed with the Korean Hansae Co., Ltd (Manufacture of clothing for women and children) who will settle in the Metropolitan Park Industry (PIM) and will create up to 7,000 new jobs at term.

On Wednesday, a second protocol was signed with the company The Willbes Haitian S.A., a subsidiary of the South Korean company The Willbes & Co., Ltd (clothing Manufacture) that will ultimately generate nearly 2,000 jobs.

The Ministry of Trade and Industry is working on a financial arrangement with the National Bank of Credit in order to have $25 million to build the necessary infrastructure to the needs of new investors.

According to our information, in December, another agreement should be signed with a company from Bangladesh, which could generate 4,000 new additional jobs.
