Supporters of "Pitit Dessalin" use violence

In Cap-Haitien, earlier this week, supporters of the Platform "Pitit Dessalin" of presidential candidate Moïse Jean-Charles, have used violence to disperse public meeting of candidates Jean-Henry Céant of "Renmen Ayiti" and that of Jude Célestin of the "Alternative League for Progress and the Haiti Empowerment" (LAPEH). Violent acts that have resulted in several injuries, rampage of the ôtel Roi Henry Christophe automatic gunfire...

Elections D-3, CEP ready at 97%

Me Mosler Georges, Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) said "We are ready at 97%. Sensitive and non-sensitive materials have already been routed through all departments of the country and Thursday, the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), responsible for the logistics of the elections, prepares to place the material in the voting centers," adding that "the electoral advisers have are already in regions to oversee the work of implementation through the various voting centers and polling stations..."

A guarantee difficult to meet...

"We guarantee, that October 25, polling stations will be open at 6 am. The staff will be on site, the materials will be available and there will be the necessary security to allow voters to vote in peace," promised Pierre-Louis Opont, the President of the CEP.
