Haiti - FLASH : Violent protest, several wounded

Tuesday, a few hours after the publication by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) of the final results of the first round of the presidential elections https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15868-haiti-flash-final-results-presidential-1st-round.html , thousands of demonstrators to the call of several opposition parties, took to the streets of the capital, challenging the results, demanding respect for the vote of the people and request exclusion from the electoral race of presidential candidate Jovenel Moïse (PHTK).



Despite a strong police presence protesters, including very violent, have broken windshields, erected barricades of burning tires on their way and throw stones and other objects at the police force. Of clashes were reported between protesters and local residents who sought to protect their property. In Delmas 3, a protester was hit by a bullet to the head and rushed to the hospital. Police made several arrests.
