Fednel Monchéry, the Coordinator of the platform "Repon peyizan" supporting the CEP, is convinced that the G8 is holding as hostages the candidate of LAPEH, Jude Célestin. He calls on the G8 to release himso that he can participate in the second round of presidential elections. The Executive has set up a commission chaired by Prime Minister Evans Paul, to try to smooth the way for the holding of the second round of presidential elections scheduled for 27 December. This Commission is composed of several Ministers and advisers of President Martelly has already met with the Private Sector Economic Forum, the National Association of Haitian Media (ANMH), the Association of Independent Media (AMI) and associations of journalists. Jean Hector Anacacis, Coordinator of LAPEH party rules out any possibility for Jude Célestin, qualified for the second round of presidential elections, to discuss with the Commission outside the G8, doubting the sincerity of this approach.

Jovenel Moïse campaigning in the North

Jovenel Moïse, presidential candidate for the second round, under the banner of PHTK continues his electoral campaign. After a walk of 20 km (from the Plaine du Nord to Cap Haitien), accompanied by thousands of supporters and sympathizers, he entered in Cap Haitien and presented its development vision to Capois in the gymnasium of the second city of the country.

The Support Group for Democracy (GRADE), which is composed of a dozen parties and political groups and more than 80 civil society organizations, urged the G8 leaders "to join the candidate Jude Célestin to go face Jovenel Moïse in the second round, instead of encouraging street demonstrations."
