Haiti - Economy : Official launch of the Haitian BPO sector

Tuesday, December 15th at the Marriott Hotel (Turgeau) the Investment Facilitation Center (CFI) in partnership with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) will proceed to the official launch of the Haitian sector BPO (Business Process Outsourcing).

The Haitian government has identified outsourcing, as one of the priority sectors for socio-economic transformation of the country. The availability of labor, multilingual skills, geographical position of the country and its fiber optic networks makes of Haiti the destination "Nearshore" of the next generation for global BPO companies.

The CFI in its concern to create jobs, developed a BPO business promotion strategy as a development engine and of rapid wealth creation. Indeed, this outsourcing process corresponds to the transfer of activities of a company to a specialized external provider. The activities are as diverse as IT (call centers, data processing...), human resources (payroll processing), finance (accounting and billing) or marketing and communication (commercial) among others.

The CFI will use this opportunity to also start with Avasant Foundation, its "Jobs: Digital Youth" program which aims to train Haitian youth to develop the skills needed for better positioning the country in the BPO sector.
