Following a correspondence from the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) dated December 16, 2015 and several other considerations, Prime Minister Evans Paul sent the same day, a letter to President Martelly, recommending him the creation of an Electoral Commission to ensure the credibility of the electoral process https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-16039-haiti-news-electoral-zapping.html

In a statement, Evans Paul explains :

"Given the correspondence of the Provisional Electoral Council dated 16 December 2015;

Considering the need to consolidate the political and social stability of the country through the establishment of democratic institutions capable of meeting the many challenges faced by the nation ;

Considering that the Government of the Republic was sworn in with main mission to create conditions conducive to the holding of legislative elections, presidential, municipal and local;

Considering that it is necessary to organize credible, transparent, participatory, inclusive elections and do everything possible to reassure the stakeholders involved in the process indiscriminately.

By letter dated December 16, 2015, the Prime Minister recommended to the President of the Republic the creation of an Electoral Commission to ensure the credibility of the process that will have a delay of three (3) days to issue recommendations to the Provisional Electoral Council and the government each in what they are concerned.
