Tuesday was held the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding between the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), the Société Financière Haïtienne de Développement S.A. These agreements fall within the framework of the component Strengthening of Local Financial Institutions (IFL) of the PSAE and participate in the strategy of MCI, focused on facilitating access to credit, the development of Small and Medium Enterprises and the creation of sustainable jobs.

Mackensen Gomez the Director General of the BUH recalled that his institution has for task to fill customer satisfaction. It remains a machine to run the future with confidence. "An envelope of over 12 million gourdes will be made available to the BUH to establish a credit department for small and medium enterprises," said Jude Hervey Day, Minister of Commerce and Industry who said that this support was within the framework of a funding agreement with the Interamerican Development Bank (IDB).

The agreement with SOFIHDES, engaged for over 30 years in supporting SMEs, will enable it to better respond to business needs. According Thony Moïse, the Director General of SOFIHDES "This agreement will allow us to continue strengthening our ability in the work of accompaniment of SMEs."

The Minister Jude Hervey Day decalred "The Ministry I drive today is to assist companies in their approach but also requires that these companies exist," adding that this program is not only targeted these two financial institutions "We are in discussion with several other financial institutions [...] which say they are ready to accompany the priority groups identified by the Ministry on the basis of their potential for productive investment."
