In the context of agricultural cooperation between the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Republic of Haiti, Tsai Chiu-Hwang, Ambassador of Taiwan accredited to Haiti made a donation of over 1.5 million US dollars (1,592,896.50) to Mr Edie Charles, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), for the implementation of the Project : Production Capacity Building of rice seed of Artibonite and Development in the cereal sector in the Valley of Les Cayes, for the period from 1 January to 30 June 2016.

Ambassador Tsai Chiu-Hwang insisted on the two ongoing projects that produce a satisfactory result, that have benefited many farmers in both regions.

It should be noted that the Republic of China (Taiwan) in 2016 plans to allocate a budget of $5 million to help build the capacity of production in the field of agriculture in Haiti.
