Haiti - FLASH : Trial of Clifford Brandt, postponed for the 3rd time

After a first postponement to fortnight on January 28 of trial of Clifford Brandt and his alleged accomplices https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-16469-icihaiti-flash-trial-clifford-brandt-hearing-suspended-postponed-to-fifteen.html followed by a second postponement of 24 hours Monday, February 15 due to the absence of the accused https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-16615-icihaiti-flash-clifford-brandt-absent-trial-postponed-24-hours.html the judge in charge of case Jean Wilner Morin citing logistical problems, the room made available to of the judge was too small, announced Tuesday February 16, the postponement of the trial to 23 February. This session should be held on the courtyard of the Palace of Justice in a space that will be developed for this purpose.

Tuesday, 6 accused Clifford H. Brandt, Sawadienne Jean, Evens Larrieux, Saint-Fort Carlo Bendel, Carline Richemard and Pierreval Ricot out of 19 identified in this case (The other being always on the run) were present in the room of the criminal court sitting without juries.

In addition, the judge handling the case, issued an order granting 10 days for people on the run to get to justice. Otherwise the court said they will be declared disobedient to the law and tried in absentia (in their absence), their property will be seized and all people will be required to indicate where they are.
