Haiti - Elections : CEP calls for calm

Face to the intensification of verbal attacks, intimidation and violence, converted into intolerable physical attacks, at four days of elections, Gaillot Dorsinvil, the President of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), informs the public in general, parties, groups, groups of political parties and all sectors involved in the electoral process in particular that it is once again obliged to invite the candidates and their supporters to remain calm.

The Electoral Council deplores the violence and urged all sectors of national life, the political parties, judicial authorities and police in particular, to collaborate by taking clear actions, concrete, and proportional in order to restore a stable serenely, for the organization of elections.

The CEP, for its part continues to set in motion, all its technical, logistical and human resources to ensure the smooth running of these elections. It also calls on citizens to rally peacefully in a spirit of patriotism, of fraternal union in order to perform their civic duty with dignity during the presidential and legislative elections of 28 November.
