Friday to the Vocational Training Pilot Centre (CPFP), Jean David Genesté, the Secretary of State for Vocational Training, Mervil Guillaumette, General Director of the National Vocational Training Institute (INFP), Ian Rowe, Head of section Reduction of Community violence (RVC) of the Minustah and Julien Magnat, the coordinator of the International Labour Office (ILO) in Haiti, jointly launched the project "Improving the provision of the qualifying vocational training and placement in Cité Soleil".

This project, implemented by the ILO in Haiti on behalf of the INFP, has 3 phases, the construction and development of an administrative Centre for the CPFP, the

certified technical training accompanied by a referral service and job placement including a support for the INFP, as well as a training and support program of 200 youth entrepreneurship is funded to the tune of 600,000 US dollars by the RVC section of the Minustah and aims inter alia to "support the Haitian government in its efforts to reduce the violence," explained Ian Rowe.

That same day, 18 trainers coming from several vocational training centres in the country under the auspices of the INFP have received their certificate in entrepreneurship of program "Improve Your Business" (IYB) https://www.icihaiti.com/en/news-17373-icihaiti-training-certification-ceremony-of-entrepreneurship-trainers.html This training was provided by the ILO through an international master trainer in training "IYB".

These certified trainers are able to lead the next training sessions in entrepreneurship for Haitian youth issued of vocational training centres (under cover of INFP), including the 200 young people from Cité Soleil, project beneficiaries.
