Haiti - FLASH : The commission recommends to redo the Presidential election

In the presentation of a summary of the work of the Verification Commission, François Benoît, President of the said Commission stated regarding the conclusions "[...] fundamentally this is the conclusion we reached that the evil began not only from the polling stations, but a little higher, at the distribution of mandates in a way I would say frantic, opening the way to a kind of trade of access mandate, sold and traded [...] we noticed that there are certain liberties that were taken with the law with the electoral process which create a range of non-retractable zombie votes [...] to the point that the number of non-retractable votes almost exceeded the legitimate votes that were acquired by the political men.

In other words the edifice itself has undergone a tortuous assault, insidious [...] which was reflected in the loss of confidence of the population in the electoral process itself [...] by casting its vote we do not know where it goes, we not known if it will be given or will be flooded with zombie votes.

In other words we concluded that the edifice itself and the process especially with respect to the presidential election was marred by fraud [...] we made the recommendation to the government, through the Government to the CEP that it would be just and equitable that at least at the presidential election the process is redo to zero [...]

We found that the source of what we call the electoral list [...] was outdated [...] people who had disappeared from circulation, of natural causes or especially at the last earthquake were still in the electoral lists [...]

We also noticed that there was a traffic of voting card [...]

[...] We recommended that the choice of members of polling stations be made in a serene way and not necessarily that political parties appoint their member, as a member of the polling stations [...] there a potential conflict of interest.

[...]"
