Haiti - Elections : The CEP is slow to accredit international journalists

Recall that on Monday, November 22, at headquarters of Minustah in Port-au-Prince, Gaillot Dorsainvil, the president of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) indicated that in the Operation Center Election (Centre d'Opération Électorale COE), staff working on the delivery of the representatives card of political parties, and accreditation cards for journalists and national and international "By Saturday, we will issue accreditation to about 40,000 members..."

It seems that Gaillot Dorsainvil should be better informed, because the vast chaos reigns at the CEP this Saturday on the eve of the poll, where members of the press, Haitian and foreign, have shown their impatience since this morning, in and outside the offices of the Provisional Electoral Council in Petion-Ville... without being able to get the precious cards of accreditations necessary to cover the elections.

The CEP calls on journalists to be patient... easier said than done when some foreign journalists, unaccustomed to being treated like that... waiting under the heat and dust for over 8 hours... cards supposed to be ready...
