According to the publication of 12th annual report of Fragile State Index, published by the Think Thank American Fund for Peace and the magazine Foreign Policy, Haiti ranks 10th in the world rankings of fragile states in a critical situation losing one place since last year.

In this ranking, more a country approaches the first place and more its ranking is bad.

This index takes into account a dozen indicators which include: development of inequality, poverty, the degree of satisfaction of the population, demographic pressure, public safety, the legitimacy of the state, the divisions between elites or economic status...

Recall that this poor ranking (10th out of 178 countries) set back Haiti, while under the Government Martelly-Lamothe, the situation did not stop improving, from the 5th position (in 2011) and the 7th , 8th and 11th position before losing again one place in the ranking in 2016.

Note that the Dominican Republic is ranked among the three countries with the greatest progress of the Latin American group and is found at the 105th position in the ranking.

Somalia is the worst country in first place as the best country is Finland in 178th position.
