As part of the fight against the smuggling of migrants by the "Valle del Cauca", the Ecuadorian military authorities arrested in various operations, 40 persons of Haitian origin, including three minors, illegally entered through the border between Colombia and Ecuador.

Colonel William Lopez, said that 6 illegal Haitian migrants were arrested in the road section Cali-Andalucía sector toll of Cerrito, having no Document of immigration control, attesting their movement in Colombia. 25 other Haitians were arrested at two hotels while 9 others were intercepted during a check while they were aboard a vehicle that made the road Pasto-Medellín.

These illegal migrants will be expelled from Ecuador and handed over to Colombian immigration authorities...
