Wednesday, at a press conference, Uder Antoine, the Executive Director of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has finally unveiled the detailed budget of electoral operations (a first in Haiti) estimated at $55 million for the elections scheduled for the period from June 2016 to March 2017. He stressed that the Treasury will fund 48.5 million dollars of this amount, recalling that it remained nearly 6.5 million in the "basket fund" managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

He also indicated that he intended to work with the Ministry of Economy and Finance, to pay all the debts of the CEP.

Budget Outline :

1 - Organizational structure of reinforced CEP : 2,426,750$ (+ 0$ basket funds)

2 - Election materials acquisition : 9,934,190$ (+ 3,214,286$ basket funds)

3 - Electoral roll updated, printed and available : 314,640$ (+ 295,640$ basket funds)

4 - Management candidacy filing, drawing and accreditation assured : 10,641,521$ (+ 0$ basket funds)

5 - Voting centers and election staff available : 16,831,134$ (+ 0$ basket funds)

6 - Education campaign and of information strengthened : 2,490,000$ (+ 0$ basket funds)

7 - Vote Tabulation Center (CTV) functional: 4,175,675$ (+ 508,000$ basket funds)

8 - Technical assistance : 274,000$ (+ 623,000$ basket funds)

9 - Support for the coordination and management of the electoral process : 770,050$ (+ 1,434,910$ basket funds)

i. Total activities : 47,830,960$ (+ 6,075,836 basket funds)

ii. Management fees : 607,137$ (+ 486,067 basket funds)

iii. Total electoral operations (i+ii) : 48,438,097$ (+ 6,561,903$ basket funds)
