Haiti - FLASH : No obstacles to the export of Dominican products towards Haiti

Tuesday, following his visit to Santo Domingo with the new Dominican Chancellor, Miguel Vargas Maldonado the Dominican Ambassador to Haiti, Ruben Silié declared in a statement from the Dominican Chancellery, that there was "no obstacle to export of 23 products banned of import by road" since October 1, 2015 (but authorized by sea or air) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-15156-haiti-notice-import-ban-by-road-of-certain-products-from-dr.html "Exports by land are proceeding normally and the only requirement of the Government of Haiti is the payment of customs duties that govern international trade [...] I see favorably the course that took the commerce between two countries and I have to recognize the interests of the Government of Haiti for Dominican products reach local consumers without delay and at competitive prices."

Recall that following the official visit to Port-au-Prince from the Minister of Dominican Foreign Minister, Miguel Vargas, August 30, it was agreed to unblock the trade between the two countries, especially the 23 high consumption goods whose admission into the territory of Haiti by land was limited https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18477-haiti-flash-haiti-will-lift-road-transport-ban-for-dr.html

Ambassador Silié said he was very satisfied with the level of relations between the two countries and said that the President Jocelerme Privert and Haitian Chancellor Pierrot Délienne, are determined that the Dominican Republic and Haiti continue to strengthen their ties.
