Haiti - Insecurity : The Embassy of Canada is closed

Due to riots and protests that have been sparked by the announcement of the results of the first round of presidential elections, the Embassy of Canada in Haiti (Port-au-Prince) is closed until further notice.

However, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that there will be no interruption of consular services because of the closure. The Embassy can be contacted by e-mail prnce@international.gc.ca and Canadians in need of urgent assistance should contact 613-996-8885.

As the situation can change at any time, visitors are advised to check before moving, to get the latest updates on the security situation in the region in which they travel.
