The de facto President of the Republic, Jocelerme Privert, held yesterday Wednesday at the National Palace,an umpteenth meeting with the different actors of the public sector, responsible for the management and distribution of aid to the affected families of the departments affected by Hurricane Matthew.

He met, among others, the Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), Yves Romain Bastien, the Director General of Ministry of Interior and Territorial Communities (MICT), Mr. Jude Saint-Natus, the Secretary of State for Public Security, Mr. Himmler Rébu, and the Director of civil Protection, Mrs. Alta Jean-Baptiste, about the effectiveness of mechanisms for the delivery and good distribution of the assistance intended to the affected families.

To end suspicions or informations indicating that the aid would go through other distribution channels to reach the families, the Head of State, while inquiring on the capacity of decentralized structures of the State, responsible for the management of aid, asked the authorities to ensure strict compliance with distribution standards and dignity of families

Jocelerme Privert also stressed the obligation made to players to leave the distribution functions to predetermined instances in the departments, communes and communal sections, namely the National Emergency Operation Centres (COUN), Departmental (SEW) and Communal (COUC).
