Haiti - U20 Football : The Grenadiers won the Caribbean Cup

After the victory of our young Grenadiers U17, which won the Caribbean Cup U-17 on 25 September to the Hasely Crawford Stadium (Port of Spain) against Cuba [5-0] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-18726-haiti-football-u-17-the-grenadiers-champions-of-the-caribbean.html as part of the final of the Caribbean Cup U-17 and kept their title is the turn of our national team U-20 after winning Friday evening the semi-final against the Bermuda [3-0] with goals signed by Jonel Désiré, Ronaldo Damus and Roberto Louima, to win Sunday evening the final of the Caribbean Cup by crushing Antigua & Barbuda [4-0], thus becoming the new champions of the Caribbean for 2016 in the category U-20.

In a perfectly mastered match the protected of Wilfrid Montilas have fully dominated the match from one end to the other, registering 2 goals in the first period, a double from Roberto Louima [2-0].

After the break, our Grenadiers bury Antigua definitely by scoring two more goals by Ronaldo Damus, also a double [4-0].

Besides Caribbean Cup, our young Grenadiers won all the individual awards of the tournament :

Jhon Paris: Best goalkeeper;

Roberto Louima: Best player of the tournament;

Ronaldo Damus: Best scorer of this Caribbean Cup (6 goals).

Now our national team are heading to the final phase of qualifying for the World Cup FIFA South Korea 2017, qualifying which will be played in Costa Rica from 17 February to 6 March 2017 to try to win one of 4 tickets available for the final phase of the World Cup.

What would be a first for Haiti.
