Haiti - Politics : Privert's comments on excessive migration

Monday, during an interview with the Dominican journalist Roberto Cavada (Channel 11), the de facto President Jocelerme Privert considered that political stability in Haiti can curb excessive migration.

"[...] if Haiti manages to stabilize politically by transparent and credible elections, Haitians will no longer have to go to other countries to seek better conditions", adding, "To achieve its development, Haiti needs of its human resources, we must create the conditions so that the citizens can stay and those who have left return [...]"

He also said that in the desire to stabilize Haiti, the Government did not favor any candidate, in order to have transparency, whatever the elect chosen by the people.

Privert also said "Haitians must get used to solving their own problems, but they appreciate the help they receive [...] If you want to help them, good, but if you do not want to or can not, we must make our own efforts [...]"
