Haiti - Health : 5th week of strike in public hospitals...

On Friday, Dr Gabriel Timothée, Director General of the Ministry of Health, met with the union representatives of the staff of the majority of the 19 public hospitals in the country on strike since last December 12 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19531-haiti-health-new-strike-in-public-hospitals.html

During the meeting, he tried to reassure the strikers on their demands with new promises. The strikers who have not changed their demands (improvement of working conditions, revision of the wage grid, letters of appointment of contractual), require a signed agreement that will commit the next government, aware that it may take a little time to get satisfaction and that this requires continuity to avoid further strikes.

They say they are ready to resume work once a credible agreement with formal guarantees is signed with the government, while waiting for the strike that paralyzes the public health system, is maintained and the population taken in hostage...
