Haiti - Justice : 41 brothels and hotels under seal in Port-au-Prince

Government Commissioner Me Danton Léger and Chief of the Port-au-Prince Public Prosecutor's Office, is continuing his campaign to close brothels and hotels that do not comply with the law and that do not respect the conditions and criteria of operation (including possession of a patent and a visible and explicit commercial plaque on the establishment, indicating their activity).

Remember that since the 48 hour ultimatum launched by Senator Jean Renel Sénatus aka "zokiki" in collaboration with Commissioner Danton, on January 26, seals have been affixed to 41 non-compliant establishments (brothels and hotels), including 30 between February 1st and 5th https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-20034-haiti-news-zapping-politics.html

Commissioner Danton said that once the institutions had complied with the law, the Public Prosecutor's Office could reconsider its decision and lift the seals. On the other hand, he threatens to prosecute all owners who do not comply with the law or refuse to comply.

In addition, he pointed out that the establishments where minors were engaged in prostitution were under special supervision and warned that severe measures would be taken against the owners and customers of these establishments.

Finally, he indicated that as part of these operations even major hotels would be investigated to ensure that there was no adult or juvenile prostitution in their establishment and that the law would be applied with the same rigor.
