Inspector Dhalia Garrick of the Jamaican Police Communications Unit said that on Sunday night, around 2:00 am on the Peter's Road in Rockfort, following a shoot-out between the police and armed individuals, police recovered on site a Galil assault rifle Israeli-made caliber 5.56 mm, very similar to the M16 rifle.

After verification, it was found that this weapon was registered with the National Police of Haiti (PNH), which reinforced the concerns of the police officers of East Kingston regarding the trade of firearms between Haiti and the Jamaica.
