Haiti - DR : Voluntary Return Program still active

Recall that this Assistance Program sponsored by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), provides that Haitian nationals travel with their belongings, to allow them to resettle in their territory, to do so they have the logistics for their transport and supervision of the immigration agents until they leave by the border crossing point of Pedernales.

A Commission headed by the Director of Immigration, Lieutenant-General Máximo William Muñoz Delgado, assessed each case of Haitians who voluntarily returned to their country in coordination with the IOM

The Voluntary Return and Reintegration Assistance Program, in coordination with the Directorate General for Migration and the Ministry of the Interior and Police (MIP), has already helped thousands of migrants return to their country of origin.

Between June 2015 and May 2017, the number of compatriots deported by the Dominican authorities or voluntarily returned to Haiti with the help of the Voluntary Return Program or without this assistance, exceeded 200,000.

Nearly 240,000 Haitians enrolled in the National Regularization Plan of Foreigners, whose deadline falls in July 2017 risk expulsion if they can not complete their file and do not have a compulsory passport, a document that Haiti does not cease promising them but never delivers them...
