Haiti - FLASH : Arrest of the murderer of the Haitian student in DR

4 days after the murder in the Dominican Republic of Miguelita Marie Shilove Thomas (24), a Haitian student of 3rd year in administrative sciences at the Catholic University, whose body had been found dead in the Dominican Republic, on the road Las Américas, of officers from the Criminal Investigation Directorate (DICRIM) captured a Haitian national, Williamson Hilaire (33), who confessed his crime.

According to his confession, in love with Miguelita Marie Shilove Thomas, he could not support she rejects his love and it's by love that he killed her...

At the time of his arrest, the police seized a 380-caliber Prietro Bereta pistol, which he acknowledged he used to kill of two bullets in the head the one who refused his love. In addition, after his confession he drove the police officers on a vacant lot where he had thrown the backpack of his victim. On Monday he was handed over to Dominican justice.

These confessions, videotaped by the Dominican police, were confirmed by Dominique Walestor, the secretary at the Haitian Embassy in Santo Domingo.

In a note, "The Embassy of the Republic of Haiti in the Dominican Republic expresses its deepest sympathies to the family of Miss Thomas, severely affected by her brutal disappearance, as well as to the student community to which she belonged."
