The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) learned with sadness of the death Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at 5:00 am, following heart complications, of the former Secretary of State Robert Labrousse, became Minister of MHAVE (April 2015 - March 2016) under the Martelly-Paul government.

"During his time at the head of the Ministry, Mr. Labrousse brought new ideas for an effective integration of the Haitian diaspora. His departure is a huge loss for the country.

The Communication Office of the Ministry pays a well-deserved tribute to the former Minister for his patriotic sense and his spirit of initiative. The Minister of Haitians Living Abroad, Dr Stéphanie Auguste and all the staff of the Ministry present their sympathies to the family and all those afflicted by this disappearance.

The MHAVE bows to the remains of former minister Robert Labrousse."

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Jovenel Moïse, has learned with emotion the death of Robert Labrousse, former Secretary of State for External Cooperation and former Minister of Haitians Living Abroad.

Robert Labrousse was a passionate and profoundly humanist man who served the Republic with love and generosity. Everywhere he left the image of a man of dialogue and convictions.

The President of the Republic salutes the memory of this genuine citizen and expresses his condolences to his family and relatives.
