Haiti - Politics : High-level meeting between Moïse and international partners

Wednesday at the National Palace, President Jovenel Moïse met with key technical and financial partners of the international community involved in Haiti, with a view to discuss with them of his vision of the development of Haiti.

At the outset, in the presence of, inter alia, Carmen Rodriguez Arce of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID), Christian Barrat, Acting Mission Director at the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Élisabeth Béton Délègue, Ambassador of France, Koldo Echebarria, Representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and Vincent Dégert, Ambassador and Head of the European Union Delegation in Haiti, the Head of State outlined the main priorities of his Administration, covering several areas, including the development of state resources to provide more services to the population, solutions to environmental problems, the increase of the resilience of citizens to climate change, and the ongoing efforts to revive the economy.

This meeting with the International Community was also an opportunity for the Head of State to highlight the initiatives taken by his team to carry out the reform of public administration in order to arrive at a modern public service capable to meet the needs of services of the population and to eradicate definitively the social inequalities in the country.

The President stressed to the partners that international support for development initiatives must be channeled into the framework adopted by the Haitian State and according to its priorities, which are clearly defined.
