Haiti - Jacmel : Me Ronald Charles describes as illegal the arrest of Duvalier

Me Ronald Charles, Dean of the Bar of Jacmel in an interview with the Press of Jacmel qualifies as illegal and arbitrary the interpellation of the former President dictator Jean Claude Duvalier, 48 hours after his return in Haiti.

According to Ronald Charles legal procedures were not followed "the government commissioner of Port-au-Prince, Me Augustus Aristides, after all the analysis, should have issued a warrant against Mr. Duvalier before his interpellation," said Me Ronald Charles who emphasized that the Haitian Constitution of 1987 did not recognize the exile.

Me Ronald Charles, who did not want to say too much on the record, said he supported the return of former President dictator Jean Claude Duvalier in Haiti. He does not exclude the possibility that the Haitian justice will take action against the former President if complaints are filed.
