Haiti - Technology : Irois power plant, a first in the country

On Thursday, President Jovenel Moïse, accompanied by his Special Energy Advisor, Evenson Calixte, and the Member of Parliament for the constituency, went to the commune of Irois (Department of Grand'Anse), on the construction site of the future Electric Power Generation Plant of the zone, which will be a first Haiti in terms of technology, since this plant will use a mixed energy production system : diesel, wind and solar. In terms of renewable alternative energy, this plant will have a production capacity of 160 kilowatts of combined wind and solar energy. It should be noted that previously a major repair and modernization operation was already carried out on the electrical distribution grid, which was severely damaged by the passage of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016, in anticipation of the commissioning of this new future power plant.
