Haiti - FLASH : Full details of the 2017-2018 budget, revenue and expenditure

Let us recall that the new budget of 144 billion Gourdes will enter into force on 1 October 2017. Subject of all the criticisms and false informations, causes of the demonstrations due in particular to the increase in certain taxes was published by President Jovenel Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22135-haiti-flash-moise-asserts-his-authority-and-publishes-the-budget.html in Special Issue No. 27 of the official gazette "Le Moniteur" dated Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Rather than listen to or read the often contradictory versions and analyzes of pros and anti-budget, we invite you to download this budget, in order to make your own opinion from the official information.

Download the 2017-2018 budget (202 pages) : https://www.haitilibre.com/docs/17_18_projet_de_loi_de_finances.pdf

Note that although still appearing in the official document of the Ministry of Finance the flat-rate fee of 10,000 gourdes in Article 17 was abolished by Parliament.

Part of Article 17 removed :

"Persons whose fiscal domicile is outside Haiti must provide proof that they are in good standing with the tax authorities of their country of residence and will pay a minimum flat tax of ten thousand (10,000.00) gourdes."

As an appendix to this budget and in order to better understand the choices and the explanations of the government, we invite you to share the Presentation Document of the 2017-2018 budget reasons, document used by Jude Alix Patrick Salomon Minister of Economy and Finance before parliamentary committees to defend his budget.
