Haiti - Politics : Minister Auguste Meets with Disabled People

On Monday, Stéphanie Auguste, the acting Minister Minister of Haitians Living Abroad newly installed as Minister of Social Affairs and Labor https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-22121-haiti-politics-installation-of-stephanie-auguste-at-the-ministry-of-social-affairs.html went to the park Sainte Thérèse of Pétion-ville to meet several hundred people with disabilities in the metropolitan area.

It was for the Minister to make people of special needs understand that the Government is sensitive to their conditions and constantly listening to them. After shaking hands with several of these disabled, the Minister listened attentively to some grievances.

Stéphanie Auguste said that the time had not yet come for promises and that the Government is active and is trying to provide itself with the means to respond substantially to the problems of this vulnerable category of the population not only because of handicaps, but also because of difficult social conditions.

At the end of the meeting, the Minister distributed food kits and envelopes to the disabled.
