Haiti - Technology : Improving postal service in Haiti

In order to boost the various services of the Office des Postes d'Haiti (OPH), a training session on the installation of the new computer system "IPS POST" was given to several employees of the DPO, by Carlos Carballada the Representative of the Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (UPAEP).

It is important to note that the new "IPS POST" system, which replaces the previous "IPS LIGHT" version, will not only allow the development of e-commerce in Haiti for the year 2018, the tracking of parcels nationally and internationally and will also offer the possibility of carrying out all types of postal transactions such as: sending, receiving and dispatching.

Following this training session, Carel Alexandre, the Director General of the OPH recalled that this installation, carried out shortly after the installation of the EMS service at the SONAPI sorting center at the inauguration of a standardized reception structure https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-21433-haiti-politics-new-postal-services-in-haiti.html will allow the optimization of the capacities of the Public Administration.

Mr Alexander welcomed the cooperation of its partners, in particular with the Universal Postal Union (UPU) and the UPAEP, and took the opportunity to reiterate its commitment to redouble efforts at the head of the Office for a national post defying all competitiveness.
