Haiti - Politic : Meeting around projects funded by the United States in the Southeast

This week, at the Jacmel Town Hall, a meeting was held between the Mayor of Jacmel Marky Kessa, Pierre Michel Lafontant the South-East Departmental Representative and Robin Diallo, acting Chargé d'Affaires of the American Embassy in Haiti.

It was a meeting around US-funded activities in the Southeast. After an overview of some problems including those of Justice and Police, Pierre Michel Lafontant summarized some projects that are important to the authorities of the department.

Diallo took the opportunity to highlight some projects funded by the US Embassyat the South-East level, particularly the "Kore Lavi" program and others in the health sector, regretting that the actions undertaken by the United States often remain unknown to the public.

The Town Hall of Jacmel and the Delegate of the Southeast pleaded for the granting of scholarships to the USA, while ensuring that the beneficiaries of these scholarships do not stay in the United States and return to Haiti after their studies .

Diallo agrees that this cordial meeting could favor other actions of the American Embassy in the future. However, as an experienced diplomat she was careful not to make promises or specify the areas of these possible actions.
