Haiti - Economy : Doing Business 2018, in business Haiti stagnates and remains misclassified...

The World Bank has just released the 15th Edition of its report "Doing Business 2018" in which Haiti is ranked in the 181st rank out of 190 countries in front of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, the Central African Republic, Libya , Yemen, South Sudan, Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Eritrea and Somalia forming the tail pack, a poor ranking that remains unchanged for our country from the previous year https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-19080-haiti-economy-doing-business-haiti-still-in-the-back-of-the-pack.html

The new "Doing Business" classifies countries this year according to the ease they offer to do business. On this point, Haiti has seen a very slight improvement with a score of 38.24 (up + 0.01 compared to the previous report), the worst score in the Caribbean, while our neighbors in the Dominican Republic posted a score of 60.93. + 2.52 increase.

Note that the average score of the Latin America and Caribbean region is 58.66

If Haiti made slight progress in: the time to start a business; the issuance of a building permit; the connection to electricity and cross-border trade, the report notes a deterioration in the payment of taxes...
