Haiti - Health : Mobile clinics in Cité Soleil and Gonaïves

The Healthcare Foundation AIDS (AHF) and the Health through Walls (HtW) supported by Digicel, organized a Mobile Clinic in Cité Soleil and Friday, November 3 in Gonaïves.

These two clinics enabled more than 2,500 adults and children to benefit from a general consultation and free medication. More than 1,000 adults in Cité Soleil were able to get tested for the HIV / AIDS virus. HIV-positive people were received by the doctors of these two organizations at the Solidarity Clinic currently located in Bois-Verna and those who were negative received condoms and messages of awareness and information inviting them to protect themselves against AIDS.

These medical clinics, which are not a first for the AHF, are part of a series of activities organized to celebrate 30 years of service in the global community. AHF will organize to the Champ de mars on December 2, 2017, its advocacy concert against HIV / AIDS and other Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs).

Dr. Greggory Baguidy, Coordinator of the Solidarity Clinic, reminded that the AHF and the HtW aim to reduce HIV through screening, tracing and treatment for all.

For Mikson Antoine, the marketing manager, prevention is also important, because by sensitizing and informing those currently not affected, the spread of the virus is avoided. "Zero new infections, zero stigma and zero AIDS deaths," he said, adding "the AHF and the HtW are coming together and want to provide 100% treatment for all HIV-positive people in Haiti in the long run, which is aligns with the priority of the Ministry of Health : 'Access to health care for all'."
