The Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of Haiti (CCAH) and its counterpart "El Centro de Resolución Alternativa de Controverses" (CRC) of the Dominican Republic, signed a memorandum of understanding to improve the global trade relations of the two countries.

The signing took place in the presence of Vincent Degert, Ambassador of the European Union to Haiti, of the French parliamentarian, Price Cyprien, President of the Lower House's Committee on Justice, Human Rights and Public Security. Frantz Bernard Craan, the President of the Haitian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIH), Wilhelm Lemke, President of CCAH, Ricardo Koenig President of CRC, Escipion Oliveira, Deputy Executive Director of Caribbean Export and representatives of the Haitian judicial system.

"In today's world of globalized trade, cooperation has become unavoidable," Wilhelm Lemke said, according to him, the time has come for these organizations, namely that he leads and the CRC, to "work for the purpose of common interest", hence the need to build the "Platform Binational of Arbitration Haiti-DR."

In this context, CCAH and CRC intend to create a more conducive business environment while amicably managing future disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods such as arbitration and mediation.

Abounding in the same sense, Ricardo Koening stressed the usefulness of such an agreement "I am convinced that the creation of this space will facilitate the resolution of the commercial conflicts that could arise in the framework of the negotiations existing between the two countries," while promising strict compliance with the provisions of this agreement.
