Haiti - Politic : Moïse promises the transformation and modernization of public transit in the country

This week at the National Palace President Jovenel Moïse met for the second time representatives of public transport unions from the 10 departments of the country. On the background of this meeting, the question of the modernization of the transport sector, the institutional mechanisms as well as the technical implementations to achieve this.

The opportunity for the Head of State to strongly reaffirm his desire to modernize this sector while announcing urgent measures to improve the movement of people across the country. To this end, Moïse believes that alongside the construction of road infrastructure, the construction of modern bus stations should be the starting point for this reform of the transport sector pending further measures and additional actions.

The President affirmed that he wanted to make this sector a fundamental asset in the country's development project and also promised to do everything possible and to take all the measures deemed useful to realize his promises. He called on all players in the sector to unite their efforts to facilitate this transformation and the modernization of public transit in Haiti.
