Saturday at daybreak, a major police operation took place in the area of Jalousie (Morne Calvaire Desermith).

More than 200 police officers from several specialized units including the Intervention and Maintenance Corps (CIMO), the Brigade of Operation and Departmental Intervention (BOID) and the Brigade of Motorized Intervention (BIM) participated in this muscular operation, conducted with the support of the new UN Mission (Minujusth).

The deputy spokesman of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Chief Inspector Gary Desrosiers confirmed the arrest of 24 individuals, 18 of whom were actively sought by justice. These individuals are accused of involvement in acts of violence and banditry especially in the commune of Pétion-ville.
