The Cellule de Réflexion et d’Action Nationale (CRAN) of the Jesuit and the civil society considers that the situation that the country is facing right now is of great gravity. It regrets that the national and international political actors seem more concerned with power struggles than by a patriotic and sincere search for solutions to the serious problems that the Haitian society confronts. The CRAN notes that the country remains deeply divided over the political transition and election issues, the interference of the international community in the internal affairs of Haiti, the impossibility for the major political actors to engage in a real dialogue and real negotiations around the best interests of the Nation, the impossibility for the major political actors to engage in a real dialogue and real negotiations around the best interests of the Nation, the impunity, the social and political violence with sometimes for target the police force; result of the dysfunction of the state institutions, including the judicial system.

Faced with this difficult situation, the CRAN is deeply concerned. It has no quick fixes, which may be the unanimous or to satisfy all parties, but faithful to its options, it patriotic appealed to all citizens of Haiti by reminding them of democratic principles , the fundamental values, human and ethical, that should guide the behaviors within this crisis that our country is facing :

• The deep and sincere love for the people, especially the most vulnerable social sectors.

• The real desire to seek quick and effective solutions to the many urgent problems of the population such as: unacceptable living under tents, the cholera epidemic, the massive repatriation of our compatriots by the governments of the United States and the Dominican Republic, the urgency to rebuild a country devastated by the natural disasters, the extreme poverty and the irresponsibility of the ruling elites etc ... These problems are often overlooked in favor of the sterile and endless struggles for the power

• The sense of dialogue, of the negotiation and of the listening which is "proof " of patriotism and of political maturity and without which the living together is not possible; this is the law of the jungle. It is time to put aside all theoretical and folk nationalism for the benefit of a genuine civic engagement.

• The honesty, the respect for others and the humility as virtues essential to the realization of a true and constructive dialogue

• The right and duty for all to participate to the public affairs, promote the common good through an effective citizen participation in elections truly honest and transparent

• The active nonviolence as a strategy of political struggle, instead of violent forms of struggle that pushes further our country into poverty and desolation.

• The national sovereignty, the self-determination of a people are sacred principles which do not fit with the foreign interference which humiliates and degrades.

The CRAN wishes that Haiti, will be one day at the height of the feats of the Fathers of the Nation, and that Haiti will take the road of the freedom, dignity and progress.
