Haiti - NOTICE EDH : Construction of line or installation of a private transformer

Haiti - NOTICE EDH : Construction of line or installation of a private transformer

In order to better regulate the extension of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage (MV/LV) lines on the electricity grid, the Electricity of Haiti (EDH) invites all those who wish to build a line or install a private transformer to report to an EDH office or to a firm approved by EDH to produce their application.

From now on, all consumers with a private transformer who do not have a registered meter must report to one of the nearest EDH Agencies with their meter application contract by January 15, 2018.

In addition, lines built by unauthorized contractors, not meeting the standards in force will be upgraded to the standards at the expense of the consumer.

In addition, lighting lamps installed directly on a transformer located inside a private property will have to be repositioned so that the energy consumed by them can be measured.

All consumers who do not comply before this deadline will have their file transferred to a law firm for legal action.
