Thursday morning, Max Rudolph Saint-Albin, the Minister of the Interior and Territorial Communities, accompanied by its Director General, Fednel Monchery, its Director of Cabinet, Technical Directors, Construction Unit Coordinators and of Public Housing Units (UCLPB) and representatives of a Taiwanese construction firm Overseas Engineering & Construction Corp. LTDA. S.A (OECC), who has already built the Court of Cassation, officially received the keys of his new building.

Built on a plot of 8,500 m2, at the corner of rue Paul VI and Monseigneur Guilloux, not far from the National Palace, the new building will house the directorates and services of the Ministry of the Interior. The 8-storey building has four levels of parking that can accommodate more than one hundred vehicles and an additional landing terrace cafe, all served by two staircases, two elevators and a lift and a access ramp at the entrance of the building, for people with reduced mobility. In addition to workplaces, there is a garden area on the inner courtyard. In his remarks at the occasion, Minister Saint-Albin declared "This new building gives the Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities the image it must have, an equipped ministry, turned towards modernity and ready to serve citizens and communities."
