Haiti - FLASH : The 2018 National Carnival will take place in Port-au-Prince

Following the agreement reached the day before at the National Palace between the Presidency and the Port-au-Prince City Council https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-23183-haiti-news-zapping.html , Friday at a press conference, Claudel Dumas, the President of the National Committee while recalling that his Committee worked as every year with different carnival committees across the country confirmed that this year "we will work with the Town Hall of Port-au-Prince and its Organizing Committee" for the organization of the National Carnival, ensuring that everything will be done to ensure that these festivities meet the expectations of the population, claiming to count on one million revelers on the Champ de mars for this event.

The theme chosen for the National Carnival this year is "Ayiti sou wout chanjman" (Haiti is on the road of change), which will take place in Port-au-Prince from Sunday 11 to Tuesday 13 February 2018.

Yannick Louis, President of the municipal organizing committee, for her part, promised that the various subcommittees would work to ensure that the festivities give the country an international reputation.

We do not yet know the budget that will be devoted to the National Carnival. Jean Michel Lapin, informed that the amount and the action plan will be known shortly, recalling that the two committees (National and Municipal) had not yet had the time to hold a working session in common.
